The PS5 and Xbox Series X|S versions launched on March 15, 2022, alongside a standalone GTA Online product. The new console editions introduced graphics-mode choices, faster loading and additional platform features, while Online gained Hao’s Special Works and a revised opening experience.
Career Builder offered a starting route into an Online criminal career, and migration allowed eligible returning players to move progress under Rockstar’s rules. Story Mode and the standalone multiplayer purchase were separate products, so owning one should not be assumed to grant every part of the other. This launch record belongs to the third console generation of GTA V; it is distinct from the 2014 console enhancement and the later PC Enhanced release.
