The first trailer appeared on November 2, 2011. Michael narrates the introduction, while Small Faces’ Ogden’s Nut Gone Flake accompanies views of Los Santos, its people, vehicles and contrasting surroundings.
The sequence established the return to a California-inspired setting and invited attention to the relationship between prosperity and everyday struggle. It offered visual hints rather than a comprehensive feature list, and its narrator was not yet a substitute for the later three-protagonist reveal. Compare the trailer with Rockstar’s announcement the next day, Trailer 2 and the dedicated character videos to follow that gradual disclosure. The archive preserves the media and its musical identification without presenting every passing image as proof of a specific playable mission.
