The Chop Shop released December 12, 2023 as Title Update 1.68. A Salvage Yard connects the player with Yusuf Amir and Jamal’s vehicle robberies. Recovered target cars can be sold or broken down for parts, while optional towing creates a related source of work.
The source lists a clean Tow Truck upgrade at GTA$1,100,000 and the beater variant at GTA$650,000. Those are Salvage Yard upgrades, not ordinary personal-garage purchases. New Drift Races and supported drift tuning add a separate driving system.
Animal encounters arrived in Freemode on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S in this release. Vehicle-specific additions included HSW eligibility for the Vigero ZX Convertible and Vivanite, and Imani Tech support for the Turismo Omaggio and Aleutian. The wider patch record includes experience and Creator changes; its permanent features should be distinguished from holiday events running alongside launch.

Each robbery entails scoping out some initial intel, completing Preps and new Freemode Tasks, and culminates in a high-speed Finale. You can then either sell off stolen vehicles for immediate profit or earn money from their parts over time. In addition, Salvage Yard owners can purchase a Tow Truck , providing access to a Tow Truck Service where players collect abandoned cars and take them back to be salvaged over time for profit. These have requirements before they can be purchased: survive and lose Wanted Levels, scope out robberies, and go deep into the criminal underworld to unlock access and Trade Prices. The Tow Truck has also become available, as an upgrade for the new Salvage Yard property .
