The December 8 announcement set The Contract for December 15, 2021. Franklin’s celebrity-solutions Agency supplied the premise, with Lamar connecting him to the player and DJ Pooh bringing Dr. Dre into the investigation. A missing phone containing unreleased music turned that business introduction into the central case.
The preview promised an Agency, weapons, vehicles and music alongside the returning Story Mode characters. It introduced the setup without providing every job’s final unlock conditions. Those details belong to the launch and patch guides. The distinction is particularly useful for new players: recognizing Franklin from the campaign does not itself provide an Agency or access to every Contract mission. The Online property and its introductory progression establish that partnership.
