The November reveal named The Cayo Perico Heist and set December 15, 2020 as its release. Rockstar introduced a guarded private island, a remote compound and the choice to attempt the operation with other players or alone.
That solo option was a major change in the public presentation of Online heists. It did not remove preparation or make every earlier heist playable with one participant. The teaser established the destination and flexible crew size while leaving the detailed submarine, reconnaissance and equipment systems to later announcements. Keeping those stages separate makes the rollout clearer: this was the first named reveal, the subsequent trailer expanded the premise, and the launch guide described how players could actually begin the heist.
