The Double-Action Revolver promotion connected an in-game email with a treasure hunt. Following the clues led to the weapon, after which a separate headshot challenge supplied the bonus reward.
The December 2017 announcement advertised GTA$250,000 for completing that challenge and a linked Red Dead Redemption 2 unlock. The weapon discovery and challenge completion were separate milestones, so finding the revolver alone was not the full reward sequence.

The cross-game connection describes the original promotion’s entitlement, while the weapon profile records the firearm’s role in GTA Online.
