Rockstar confirmed March 15, 2022 for the PS5 and Xbox Series releases, with new display modes, loading improvements and platform features. Online was also due to receive a revised introduction and Career Builder, while The Contract’s Short Trips were being made more accessible.
The same communication acknowledged development of the next Grand Theft Auto. That statement should remain separate from the technical features of the GTA V console edition: a future project’s existence does not describe the engine or content of the remaster. The announcement’s headline maximums, including 4K and 60 frames per second, depend on the selected mode and hardware. Use the later launch guide to compare actual edition features rather than assuming all targets operate together.
