The briefing
The April 2015 Rockstar Editor introduction presented tools for recording and assembling GTA V footage. Players could select clips, control the camera and edit the result into a finished video rather than simply exporting an uninterrupted gameplay capture.
Director Mode provided the related scene-making environment, letting a creator use available actors and world settings. The two tools addressed different stages: Director Mode helped stage material, while the Editor assembled and presented recorded clips.
A useful workflow is to capture a clear sequence first, then choose angles and pacing in the edit. The original announcement describes the PC debut. Later platform support and service changes should be checked separately when deciding where a project can be edited or shared.
