The briefing
The November 30, 2023 preview outlined the content that would become The Chop Shop. Yusuf Amir and Jamal were returning to organize vehicle robberies through a purchasable Salvage Yard. The announced loop offered a choice between selling stolen targets and dismantling them for parts.
Driving additions included new Drift Races and drift-tuning options for selected vehicles at the LS Car Meet. Those changes served competitive drifting and Freemode practice, rather than adding the same handling conversion to every existing model.
The preview also promised animals in GTA Online on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, alongside holiday surprises and Rockstar’s 25th-anniversary clothing. Platform-specific animals and seasonal clothing have different availability rules. The later December 12 release record establishes the final business, upgrade prices and supported vehicle list; this page preserves what was announced before those systems became playable.
