Programmer t0st identified an avoidable bottleneck in the PC version’s loading process and demonstrated a substantial reduction in waiting time. Rockstar investigated the finding and incorporated an official improvement, with the report describing gains of up to seventy percent under the tested circumstances.
That upper figure is not a guarantee for every machine or every stage of joining a session. Hardware, network conditions and the distinction between starting the client and finding a lobby can still affect the result. Rockstar also rewarded the contribution with US$10,000. The significant outcome is that a community investigation led to a supported game change; players did not need to treat the original experimental modification as the permanent way to benefit from the fix.
