Purchasable businesses become available after Nervous Ron. Approach the sale sign with an eligible character and enough cash. Story safehouses are unlocked through the campaign rather than bought through GTA Online’s apartment website.
Owning five properties is one of the miscellaneous requirements for Story Mode 100% completion. Buying the full property catalog is a separate optional goal.
