The briefing
On February 4, 2022 Rockstar publicly said active development of the next Grand Theft Auto was underway. The statement acknowledged GTA V’s long life and promised to share more when the studio was ready.
It did not yet supply the GTA VI trailer, a precise launch day or the later cast introductions. This is the development-confirmation milestone. The anniversary announcement and December 2023 trailer belong later in the timeline, followed by the subsequent schedule changes.
